FossaMail Fails to Email PDF Attachments from Tracker Softwa

Hi,

New to FossaMail, but longtime Thunderbird user. Normally after creating an PDF document via Tracker Software's PDF Editor, I hit the "Email as Attachment" button and off it goes using Thunderbird. However, when using FossaMail, I do the same thing and it hands a bit (10-15 seconds), then I get the following popup announcement from Windows 7 (64-bit) system:

PDF-Xchange Viewer (Title Bar)

X Couldn't send the document by e-mail
Error [System]: The remote procedure call failed.


I went back to Thunderbird and everything works fine. Same problem with any Microsoft Office (2010) Product if you try to email directly within the application. No problem with Thunderbird.

There is a difference here...could it be that FossaMail is a 64 Bit app whereas Tbird is a 32 Bit app???

I'm having the same problem with trying to "send as email attachment" from Nitro PDF.

In fact, if I try to "email pdf as attachment" from Nitro Pdf, I get a windows popup which says "Fossamail has stopped working". Obviously, when I close that popup, Fossamail shuts down.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

Interestingly, if Fossamail is not running, "email pdf as attachment" opens Fossamail and a new mail window with the attachment. Odd.

Also tried the attach a PDF or MS Office Doc, etc. with FossaMail open and closed. Both times simply get a failed call and no attachment takes place. FossaMail never even starts. Running Windows 7 64 bit. Again, TBIRD works with all attachments. You can, of course, send the attachment if you manually attach and email...no problem doing that.

Hi,

Unfortunately no. I have loaded several 64-bit PDF demo software packages and cannot get FossaMail to attach anything. Also wait a while (30 seconds or so) and then it tells me it has the fault I cited in my forst email on this issue. BTW, I loaded the 64-bit version of Thunderbird (Daily) and got the same problem with both 32-bit and 64-bit PDF and/or MS Office docs! Must be something with the Thunderbird engine as both FossaMail and TBIRD are nearly the same structure under the hood, though FossaMail is more optimized for 64-bit and speed/stability.

Really wish they would address this issue...

How about you? Any luck?

Hi. No luck here either. In fact I've gone back to TB at the moment as I send a lot of emails with attachments.
Shame because Fossa runs noticeably faster on all my machines. Strangely it also seems to render colours better when using addons like Folder Colours.

Hi,

I will have to do the same as I too, being self-employed, do this kind of thing with MS Office and my PDF tool all of the time. Becomes a real headache to constantly have to manually attach a file you have to hunt for after saving it. Also, most of us use a PDF writer for conversion and like to email directly from the created PDF document and be done with it!

Like you...due to my way of making money...back to TBIRD (32-bit)...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

I'm self employed as well, electronics design, so exactly the same for me. Probably send something like 10 attachments a day.
A pity though. Apart from that problem, I like Fossamail 64bit. I'll carry on with Palemoon 64bit for now and keep my fingers crossed.
But it sounds like Mozilla need to sort the underlying problem first before Moonchild can make it work.

So complaining to Moonchild would be talking to deaf ears for the FossaMail client? Who should we harass about FossaMail on the attachment issue?

The only way I can get Fossamail to attach files (tried with doc and pdf) is to put them in a zip file. Real shame, as I was liking Fossamail a lot, but might have to revert to TB.

So this latest Fossamail email client will now do a "mail to:" to a PDF or MS Office document (Word, Excel, etc.)?

Very important for a number of us.
