'Disconnected' profile

Hello all
Since shutting down last night and rebooting this morning, Fossamail does not seem to be picking up the profile. profile.ini in user\AppData\Roaming\Fossamail points to the
default profile in \Profiles but when Fossamail opens is is as if I am starting from scratch, and am asked to set up email accounts.
Can anyone advise ? Or failing that am I able to get at the stored emails to migrate them to another client ?

Following on, I restored a backup profile from a week or two ago which I know was ok.
It made no difference, FS started as if first installed, asking me for addresses, etc.

Uninstalled and reinstalled FS, made no difference.

Error Console shows :
Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///c:/Program&20Files/Fossamail/chrome.manifest'.

neither of these files exist

Hello again.
I have tried setting Thunderbird to point at the Fossamail profile, but it was no use.
I then uninstalled, redownloaded Fossamail, copied the old profile to the new one and tried again.
This time Error console showed:

You should start with a clean profile

Thanks for the reply.
In the end I saved the profiles, uninstalled and reinstalled Fossamail, then copied the contents of the restored profile to the new one (AppData\Local and AppData\Roaming)
This seems to have worked and I can access my emails up to the date of the last backup.
