Transfer Fossamail folders

Unread post by BrianCarver » 2017-04-08, 13:56

Hi everybody. Last Saturday I posted a request for help in transferring my Fossamail folders from my old PC to a new one. To date there have been 132 views but not a single reply.
Does this mean that it is not possible? Any help would be most appreciated.

Copy the profile from the old machine to the new; look up instructions for Thunderbird as that might yield more results and the steps will be almot the exact same.

I already tried that. All my missing folders seem to be located in C:Users\xxx\appdata\roaming\Fossamail, but seem not to be transferred to the Fossamail program. I have tried a clean install but the only data which shows in Fossamail are Inbox, Sent trash and Contacts, but not the mail folders.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Regards Brian

Hi. I am not sure if I have done this correctly. I am something of a novice. If not correct please tell me the right way.

I meant the file profiles.ini, located in C:Users\xxx\appdata\roaming\Fossamail
Post that file.

Sorry, I must be stupid but my Fossamail profiles is some 450mb, and does not seem to have an .ini file in it. When I try to copy the whole profiles file to this post I get the same result as last time. What am I doing wrong?

Navigate to c:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\FossaMail\
In that folder there should be a file named profiles.ini

It´s a small textfile, my profiles.ini is only 123 bytes...

Open the file, copy the content, and post it here.

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/gaaimxmj.default

YES.

Do you have a folder named gaaimxmj.default ?
Is that your FossaMail-folder ?
