Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Yes, and it is now bundled with FossaMail 27. There is no need for a separate download any longer (check the release notes).
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I didn't see that in the release notes. Cool, it's definitely convenient to have bundled with it.trava90 wrote:Yes, and it is now bundled with FossaMail 27. There is no need for a separate download any longer (check the release notes).
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Remember you should remove the previous version of lightning (25.x) to prevent any confusion in the mail client.

Thank you for the continued updates!
But I'm still not seeing how to activate Lightning. It's not under addons and I don't see anything under menu items or options to view calendar.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I have removed the old Lightning addon before the update, but after starting FossaMail, the calendar is just not there.
I am using FossaMail 27.0.0 for Linux x86-64; the addon is actually present in distribution/extensions/ and it works if I symlink it into extensions/, where the default theme is.
Is this just a misplacing of the addon or a bug since the addon should be loaded from distribution/extensions/ as well?

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I've had to go back to FM25 because lightning is not showing at all in FM27. I followed the instructions carefully and removed the old lightning add-on, but still no joy. Clearly, integration isn't working yet. I don't want to appear ungrateful, but can we please just have a lightning add-on until the problem is sorted? At least it worked that way.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Just to say the update went well for me (Linux x64). I removed my language pack and Lightning before upgrading and Lightning's working for me in 27.0.0.
Pale Moon and Epyrus on Arch Linux.
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I installed the 64-bit FM27 and lost my entire Calendar!!! How does one get the Calendar in FM27??
I had to revert to FM25 until you get this sorted out!!

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
@BobbyJay and @Edd Juglans: it worked for me to copy/symlink the addon from distribution/extensions/ to extensions/ in the directory where you installed FossaMail.
I am on Linux and I just made the symlink {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} -> ../distribution/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} in /opt/FossaMail/extensions.
Then I just enabled the addon in the addon manager (it appears as Lightning 2.9.0)
If you are on Windows, probably you can just copy it, instead of creating a symbolic link.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
This does not Work in Windows 7 64-bit because there is nothing to link to after removing Lightning in FM25. The entire calendar extension directory is removed when you uninstall the FM25 Lightning extension. If you either do not uninstall the Lightning extension or make a copy of it and then put it back in the directory it is recognized as the Lightning 25 extension and will not work in FM27.andy80 wrote:@BobbyJay and @Edd Juglans: it worked for me to copy/symlink the addon from distribution/extensions/ to extensions/ in the directory where you installed FossaMail.

FM27 does not create a calendar and it will not utilize an old one from FM25. For this to work Lightning 25 must be left installed and FM27 needs update the existing calendar files to work with FM27. As it is right now you lose your complete calendar when updating to FM27!
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Its working fine for me on Windows 8.1, so far.
I "Remove"ed Lightning first, downloaded the 64 bit zip file, extracted that on top of existing FM folder.
Did not do anything else, and did not touch profile folder.
Not only was the Calendar itself there, but the scheduled items are as well.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Folks,
Lightning Calendar does not appear anywhere in Fossamail 27 on Win7,X64, ServPak 1.
Tried twice, with and without lightning extension installed, also with Provider for Google Calendar removed.
NO Joy! Went through all of the available menus, could not find any mention of Calendar or Lighting.
Gone back to 25.2.4

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Lightning is bundled with Pale Moon 27.
I've tested different setups myself, and there have been no issues with it! The first time you start it FossaMail 27, it will pop up an infobar at the bottom of the screen asking you if you want to keep lightning or not. Clicking "Keep" will install it in the add-on manager automatically, after which it will be shown as "lightning 2.9.0".
If this bar doesn't show, please check in Options -> Advanced -> config editor, if mail.calendar-integration.opt-out is set to "false" (the default). If not, set it to false and restart the client.
For the people who have issues with it: are you using a profile that you migrated from Thunderbird?

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
There's definitely a problem. I removed Lightning and restarted to make sure. Then I installed FossaMail 27. Lightning wasn't in the addons, there was no infobar asking me anything and mail.calendar-integration.opt-out is set to false. I migrated from Thunderbird, but that was quite awhile back.
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Yes, I migrated from Thunderbird, over a year ago. When I installed 27, I got no info bar or any other indication for an option to keep Lightning.
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I tried again this morning to install FM 27. I made sure to follow Moonchild's instructions carefully, but still no joy.
I'm experiencing this issue with lightning in Windows 10, MX16, PCLinuxOS and Sparkylinux 4.5.
I've been using FossaMail for quite a long time now, without any issues, both in Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 - and in several different Linux distros.
I'm sure that this teething problem will be ironed out in subsequent versions but, for those of us experiencing real difficulties right now, could I please respectfully request a lightning xpi for FM 27..?
Many thanks...
Edd

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I did migrate from Thunderbird. I had to completely wipe everything I had for both FossaMail and Thunderbird before I was able to get the option to enable the Lightning 2.9.0.Moonchild wrote:Lightning is bundled with Pale Moon 27.

My installations never gave me a pop up Infobar with any options.
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
You can found it in zip (x86 or x64) in FossaMail\distribution\extensions\, just copy {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} folder to your_profile\extensions\Edd Juglans wrote:for those of us experiencing real difficulties right now, could I please respectfully request a lightning xpi for FM 27..?
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I'm not sure what would trigger this situation. I've tried several times now with and without existing data and lightning simply is there to get installed, or automatically picked up if it was previously installed.
Can you try to upgrade to FossaMail 27 while the previous version of lightning is still installed, and only remove the v25.* one afterwards (after verifying v2.9 is there)? It may be a migration problem if it finds it flagged as "previously installed but not currently there" or something similar.
Perhaps resetting the extension database in your profile may also help.
As for manually installing, the files are all there in FossaMail application folder/distribution/extensions for your individual OS -- you can pack what is inside the folder {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} with zip, rename the zip to .xpi, and then install it as normal.
