Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I figured out if you move the profiles.ini file out of the FossaMail directory under AppData > Roaming, and then start it up, it would then ask if you wanted to use Lightning and install it. That extension folder could then be copied over to the original profile extensions folder and then just overwrite the new profiles.ini file with the old one. For some reason the old profile causes FossaMail to not trigger an install.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I just upgraded to FM27 and installed lightning. With a bit of tinkering I got everything to work !posting.php?mode=reply&f=34&t=14607#
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Being on Win7-32 I forgot to remove the Lightning addon from old FM and after upgrading to FM 27 Lightning and even the "Tasks and Events" in the menu have disappeared, but ONLY in my Win7 user account, where I had installed the old add-on - removing it then from FM 27 didn't fix it.
In the Win7 admin account, where I didn't had Lightning installed the integrated Lightning version 2.9 and the menus were fine.

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 on a 64 bit PC. I did not notice (my mistake) I had to disable lightning before upgrading.
I Tried every solution proposed here whitout success. Installing lightning component from a .xpi file created by zipping Fossamail/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} folder didn't worked (FM answer: Unable to install extension, Extension file seems to be corrupted).
I finally get it to work with a solution closed to the previous I mentionned:

I finally get it to work with a solution closed to the previous I mentionned:
- stop FM27
- edit my profiles.ini and locate the folder used by your profile (example path=/home/me/fossamail_folder)
- search for the lignthning folder in the downloaded fossamail package extension which is located at /FossaMail/distribution/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}
- copy the entire {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} folder to /home/me/fossamail_folder/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}
- restart FM27
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Thanks, that seems to be the proble (and the solution), but just one more help:
After transferring the calendar extension file, it was necessary to open Fossamail, activate the add-on (Tools>Add-Ons>Lightning 2.9.0), then restart Fossamail. Now all is well.
-- Win10 x64 FM27.0.0 / Profile folder shared with ubuntu-MATE x64 16.10 platform

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
That solution worked for me. I guess the problem is that the profile copier brings over the Lightning addon from Thunderbird which is incompatible with FM27. So you remove it, but by then it has already overwritten the proper version. Zip/xpi/install worked great, restart FM27 and there's all my calendar!
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
I disabled Lightning 25.2.4 renamed profile.ini in AppData > Roaming and restarted FM. I got msg if I wanted to enagle lightning and said yes. Turned off FM and deleted nev profile.ini and renamed back old one. Started FM and installed provider for google calender addon. Restarted FM and calendars were back....
Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
Hello all,
I made lightning work with Moonchild's comment on how to create a separate xpi. Unfortunately, I could make it work in german, it still shows only up in english.
Is there any way to make it work in german?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
regards, Udo

Re: Is there an update for the lightning addon for FM27?
This is a dreaded Me Too post.
I was able to get Lightning to install by using the "build your own .xpi" method on Win7 X64.
As a side effect of upgrading to FossaMail 27.1.0, I was able to get Enigmail and Clippings to work properly on my machine. I had trouble with those two extensions "Auto Updating" to incompatible versions, I believe, because I had installed FossaMail over an ancient Thunderbird setup. I will credit this "fix" to two of my favorite extensions to the hard work of Moonchild and associates.
Thanks for your efforts,
Cheers!
