Is 32-bit or 64-bit recommended for 64-bit PC?

Unread post by context » 2017-01-17, 17:50

I'm setting up a new 64-bit PC running 64-bit Win7 Pro. Several of my applications are 32-bit and run just fine on the 64-bit OS, of course.

Is there a good reason for me to install the 64-bit version of FossaMail?

I ask because I've seen one indication that there could be problems with porting my email history from 32-bit FossaMail on my previous computer.
("FossaMail 64 will not recognize a TB 32 profile and aborts."

Thanks in advance for advice.

Yes, it better utilizes the x64 architecture of your CPU to increase productivity and responsiveness, basically, better optimization.

Yes, it's 64bits. Also with 64bit you can access more memory .

They only problem with the 64-bit version (which might feel somewhat faster, depending on usage type) is that you won't be able to select multiple files in Windows and then right-click/Send to (to add them as attachments automatically). It's a Windows problem and probably occurs on all 64-bit email clients.

It works with a single file (see here on how to do it) - or use the 32-bit version which is not affected by this.
