Is is possible to start PM without opening a tab? Hear me out, I have a customized version of the new PM start.me, but I have it started in a pinned tab, which is exactly what I want, but currently when PM starts I also get a blank tab. I'd really like to start PM with only my pinned tab, is there a way to do that?

No, I'm afraid there's no way to do this. Pinned tabs are not treated as tabs, but as web applications - they therefore don't count towards the tabs you have open.
