[SOLVED] [INI file] MultipleIstances / Input focus problem

Unread post by opale » 2012-04-09, 06:56

Hi,

[Pale Moon 11.0.1 Portable]

1) Pale Moon INI file contains the item MultipleIstances and not MultipleInstances.
Is that right ?

2) Right clicking an empty box don't create blinking cursor like all other browsers do.
This is disturbing !

3) Also disturbing, Pale Moon closes totally when the last tab is closed : FF replaces it by a "new tab" and don't close : far better (solved with TAB MIX PLUS) !

Regards.

Yes it is. The next version of the loader+ini fixes that typo (inherited from the x-launcher developers).
2) Right clicking an empty box don't create blinking cursor like all other browsers do.

You can probably fix this by disabling hardware acceleration.

Without more detailed information on your setup and what exactly it is you mean, it's hard to provide support ;)
Please provide details about your system, and exact steps to reproduce the problem.

This is a personal preference. You don't need an add-on to change this!
If you prefer it to not close the window with the last tab, go to about:config, find the parameter browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab and toggle it to false
You are also incorrect that Firefox replaces it with a new tab unless you have specifically set this parameter. The Firefox default is to also close the window with the last tab.

First of all, I want to thank you for this fantastic proggy !
Searched, found and using it because it is the only browser with good download of vid files (WMV) from thumbnailed pages on some sites (FF 7.0 & other failed)...
Thanks for your prompt response.

2) Right clicking an empty box don't create blinking cursor like all other browsers do.
Please provide details about your system, and exact steps to reproduce the problem.

[WIN XP PROFESSIONAL SP2]

Enter Pale Moon forum.
Top right, click "Login".
First box "Username" with blinking cursor.
Second box "Password" empty.
Right click on second box "Password" and paste anything, you past it in the FIRST box !

Now, FF 7.0
First box, blinking cursor.
Second box, empty.
Right click on second box, blinking cursor on second box.
Paste, you paste in SECOND box !

3) Also disturbing, Pale Moon closes totally when the last tab is closed...
This is a personal preference. You don't need an add-on to change this!

You are right, TAB MIX PLUS have done the about:config tweak which stayed after uninstalling TMP !

Regards.

Input focus problem

Ah, so it's a focus problem, not switching focus to the element you right-click on.
I've tried to reproduce this problem in Pale Moon 11.0.1 on both Windows 7 (with a number of add-ons installed) and Windows XP SP3 (on a clean profile) without any luck. I think this may be a problem with one of your add-ons.
Please try starting Pale Moon in safe mode (Hold SHIFT pressed down when you start the browser) and select "Continue in Safe Mode" and see if this fixes your issue. If so, it is indeed one of your add-ons causing the problem.

Ah ! Ah ! Great answer, man !
And the culprit is... ALL-IN-ONE GESTURES 0.22.1

Same add-on with same options on FF 7.0 gives no trouble !

Thanks for the good help.
Regards.

PS : Works just fine with FIREGESTURES 1.6.16

Well, Firefox 7 and Pale Moon 11 have several thousand differences, so it's quite possible that this add-on simply has to be updated for the Firefox 11 code base.

Conclusion : I am a recent user but for what I can see now, it is far better than FF in many domains and I 'll substitute FF 7.0 Portable with Pale Moon 11.0.1 Portable !

Thanks for all...
Regards.
