Middle-click of url doesn't open in new tab

Unread post by BlackAdder » 2011-09-07, 21:24

When I middle-click now nothing happens. Am using 3.6.20 and Win7x64. Anyway, middle-click has always worked to open a url in a new tab and was working normally yesterday - but today it is kaput. Checked my settings in about:config and mouse software and everything looks good. Middle-click is working in Google Chrome and Firefox so it appears to be a browser problem. I downloaded to this latest Palemoon version a few days ago and didn't have problems until today. Any ideas?

If it worked for a few days with the current version of the browser, then something must have changed on your system to cause this problem. Things don't tend to just "stop working" without a reason, after all.
Did you install any new software? Did you have software updates (to your add-ons, windows updates, ...)? Think about what might have changed between when it worked and when it stopped working.

The problem turned out to be Greasemonkey which conflicted with Tab Mix Plus or something. Anyway, they corrected it today and the latest version cleared up the problem. Thanks Moonchild.

Greasemonkey very often throws monkey wrenches into the gears of the browser.
It can be a powerful tool but things (very) often go wrong with it.
