[Solved] Netflix quit working

Post by Jive Dadson » 2014-10-12, 19:08

Netflix no longer works on Pale Moon. When I click on a video, it takes me to a page describing system requirements. I have re-installed Silverlight, to no avail. It still works with Firefox. It might have quit working when I recently upgraded to latest-and-greatest Pale Moon.

Pale Moon 25.0.0 (x64)

Windows 7 Home Premium
Gateway SX2370
AMD A6-3620 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.2 GHz
4 GB RAM
64-bit

Okay,I did as instructed. Now it tells me I am "almost ready to watch," and that I need to install Silverlight. It is already installed. Latest and greatest. Disabling all addons and restarting the browser does not help.

Any more ideas?

EDIT - I seem to have lost the Silverlight plugin now. How to reinstall it? Un-installing and re-installing Silverlight did not do the trick.

More info.

When I use Firefox to go to the Silverlight web page, it tells me I am running the latest-and-greatest. When I go there from Pale Moon, it says,
You are running on a browser that may not be fully compatible with Microsoft Silverlight. You can still try to install by clicking below or you can refer to the System Requirements for more information.
The Silverlight plugin is still missing from Pale Moon, and I do not know how to get it back. Uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight does not work.

EDIT: I am back on the track. Silverlight was not re-installing correctly because of some retained-state problem with the Windows Installer service. I killed the service, disabled it, re-enabled it and restarted, and then it worked. Whew!

Glad to hear you got Silverlight working again!
I assume your problem is solved now, so closing this thread.
