Pale Moon forum

Hi!

I sincerely and severely apologize if this has been asked and sorted before.

I seem to have some issues with sync. I set up sync between the windows and android version of PM. It will give me the letters and seem to comfirm and say that data is being downloaded in the background and stuff but my Android shows no signs of being synced with the desktop version. I don't know if it's relevant but I set up my sync account when I was still using firefox and it just "tagged along" when I copied the profile over to Pale moon.

I vaguely remember reading something about having to get a "new" sync account, but how does one do that? I see no such option under manage account.

Again, sorry if this has already been covered.

Open Pale Moon. On the tool bar, go to Tools >> Setup Sync. Click "Create a New Account."

All I see in the tools menu is "sync now". Might be because I already have an account.

Are you using the new Pale Moon version 25? If you are using an older version that may be the difference and Sync won't work. There are problems with old versions of Sync; search the forum for this. (Also, if you haven't yet upgraded to version 25: There are many add-ons that are not yet made compatible with version 25 of Pale Moon, so that needs to be taken into account before you upgrade, if you use many add-ons.) This is what it looks like for version 25:

I have version 25 with the classic style (tabs on bottom and manu bar). If I click the tools meny, I can only see "Sync now" and if I go into options, it seems I can only manage the account I allready have.

The account has to be created from the desktop version, if you tried to create it in the android one it's expected you can'. Was that your issue ?

If you previously set up your sync account you will have to go into options on Windows first and select "unlink this device". This will remove the sync account from your Pale Moon installation and change the "sync now" to "Set up sync". Then set up a new sync account.

After you have done that, use your android device to set up sync there, which will give a 12 character code. enter that in your windows Pale Moon under "link a device" and you should be done.
