cannot load flash/rtmp from a website

Post by akshayk29 » 2012-03-16, 06:36

Hi,Pale Moon is the best
Operating system:Windows XP SP3
Browser version:9.2
32-bit or 64-bit?:32-bit
Problem URL:http://www.9xtashan.in/livetv.aspx
Installed add-ons:Greasemonkey,WOT,DownThemALL,gtransalator,RAMback

When I load this page,I should see the flash content(live tv) under the live tv section, but there is a blank black box there.Chrome works fine and firefox also doesn't load this.
Any suggestions?
thanks

A black box instead of flash-based video is usually caused by the plugin container (plugin-container.exe) not being given full unrestricted access to the Internet. You have to allow traffic in both directions for streaming to work.

Also, I can't check your problem URL due to regional blocking so my hands are bound in that respect.
Oops!!!
This content is not available in your region.
Can anyone in India verify the issue?

I think your firewall and antivirus settings and logs will need to be checked, they're most likely to be at fault with that problem.

You have to set up your firewall and/or internet security suite to allow both incoming and outgoing traffic to "plugin-container.exe" in the Pale Moon installation folder.
Alternative, if it's an antivirus suite "sandboxing" Pale Moon, make an exception rule for it (add to "trusted" or similar)
Please see the documentation of your firewall and/or security suite for instructions on how to do this specifically for your software.

Nothing works,I added plugin-container to firewall exceptions list and my antivirus(avast) but no change.I even added port 1935tcp to windows firewall exceptions.
Maybe you could use a proxy (India) to check the website.
Thanks!

I checked with a proxy, and the content loads up as it should, including the flash-based player they use. The "videos" section also properly loads and plays videos on this site, just not the "live tv" one.

As far as I can tell this is a server-side misconfiguration that prevents streaming on current Firefox-based browsers.
