Pale Moon forum

Since updating PM to 24.7.0 (x86), LastPass login attempts through the LastPass extension -- both 3.1.1 from addons.mozilla.org and 3.1.40 from LastPass -- with grid multifactor authentication consistently fail. This is new in Pale Moon as of 24.7.0.

The Grid Authentication works fine when logging in through the LastPass website. The LastPass extensions are working correctly in Chrome and (most significantly) Firefox, and the LastPass extension was working fine in PM before updating to 24.7.0. As nothing else has changed, the problem appears to be specific to the extension in Pale Moon 24.7.0.

The extension will work normally if I log into LastPass (w/grid authentication) via their website -- it is only when I attempt to log in via the extension that the authentication fails.

OS: Win7 x64
PM: 24.7.0 x86
LastPass Extension 3.1.1

Potentially, the LastPass "Grid" servers and/or extension may not like one particular thing: the fact that the minor version of Pale Moon has been adopted again in its gecko version and firefox compat version. I can't think of anything else off-hand. Still, not something I can troubleshoot as it's in the extension code somewhere.

Should I bring this up to the LP extension folks? If so, how should I note the difference btwn the gecko/FF compat versions, what details should I pass along about Pale Moon, etc.?

If it *is* a conflict with the extension and gecko, are you planning (going forward) to keep the change to gecko? (I'll keep using PM either way -- just curious whether to bother with the LP extension.)

I'd tell them anyway. If enough people bring it to their attention, maybe (just maybe) they might start supporting Pale Moon.

UPDATE: Two users at the LastPass forum has posted there about the same problem, which started around the same time (late July-early Aug), but involving newer extensions (3.1.50, 3.1.54) and on (the fully-supported) Firefox 31.0. Link below: https://forums.lastpass.com/viewtopic.p ... =pale+moon

Now I'm curious what (if anything) changed in LP's grid authentication protocol that it broke only the Firefox/Gecko extension for grid authentication (which I imagine only a minority of users use).
