Visit http://duckduckgo.com/ and click on the Firefox link, bottom right, does that search engine install correctly?

I'm in the middle of a long session with an installed Pale Moon at the moment, I'll try a portable version as soon as I can close this one.

Re: Mycroft & other search plugins are refused
I just loaded a new portable and installed 9x Mycroft searches, W7x64 - I'll check on my XP machine but it looks like a glitch your end at this point.
EDIT: a selection of Mycroft searches also installed fine and work on my XPx86 machine.

turns out DNTPlus uses cookies for each site that it blocks. I copied the URLs from their cookie list and added them to my HOSTS file using HostsMan. that seems to do the same thing as DNTPlus without the srch engine problem.
i'd appreciate your letting others know. thanks. J.

I glad you got it sorted, these things can be so annoying
I'll try to remember the scenario in case someone else has similar.
