Post by Aria13 » 2012-02-13, 19:25

Hi
I've read the forum and from my understanding, i still can't resolve this issue and had to revert to using a Firefox and Explorer (yuk) browser to get anything done.

I've got my troubleshooting info here:

Can you help me? I really don't want to not use Pale Moon, but I'm frustrated in dealing with this issue. It will freeze my entire system, including not being able to pull up the task mgr IF I let it get into the full not responding. The slowness starts almost immediately with the scroll bar taking a few second delay to scroll the page, the typing will look like I'm not filling anything in, then about 5 seconds later some letters show up... it took forever to create my profile to join just to submit to this forum for help. :? and :(

I'm sure the fella's in the know will be along soon to help, but in the meantime you may want to have a look at this post ... http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=304 .... as I too had this problem with Pm 8, may not be same prob but worth having a looky anyway :D

While the experts come to help, I suggest you that try to disable the addons and check to turn on them one per one.

For my personal experience Fireshot did hang Palemoon a lot, and oddly it was for use Ghostery and Ad block plus add ons at the same time. The fix was to put Better privacy add-on that handle LSO cookies. Go figure! The war ended in truce! So first check if the add-ons don't have a small secret war like in my case. XD

What they said ;)
And if it doesn't solve your issue, get back to us with a bit more information about your actual computer setup (hardware/OS/software)

Hi Everyone -
I'm grateful for your comments

I'm working on the Plugin withdrawal technique  ... It takes me time because it distracts from my need to get things done, so I'm working from other browsers and tending to this problem as a sideline sidetracking to find an answers...

so far about 1/4 way through my list of adding them back one by one. Thanks for your considerations. I'll let you know the result WHEN I arrive at nailing the culprit because so far, I'm not locking up like I did - good sign I think.

Ten days since the last post and no resolution to be found:(

No problem with Opera, Chrome or Firefox which are all running faster then Pale Moon.

When will the next "Working Version" be released?

Mac

Hi Mac,

Not sure what your particular problem might be; details and history please?

The last post from the OP here indicated that he was part-way through a troubleshooting process, difficult to reply to that in any meaningful way.

If they didn't get back to the forum, it's possible that this has been a fluke and the problem never reappeared. Without further information from the OP there is very little to offer as a response from our team here; this does not mean "bad support", it is a normal process in a troubleshooting procedure. You have to wait until the user has completed their steps. Most notable also when the problem cannot be reproduced by us.

If this happens for you then, would you like to talk of this with us? Often is a secret "Plug-in Wars" when some plugins just don't like each other as I found, that crashed my PM and freeze it. So don't mix ABP with Ghostery without install Better Privacy too. But I only can guess from now.
