Pale Moon 9.1
Thanks for the security release.
I had to go back to 9.0.1.
9.1 broke my right click link open in new tab function. Put 9.0.1 back on with my same profile, problem is gone.

It works perfectly fine here...
That functionality is exactly 100% the same for both versions, so there should not be a difference.
You might want to check if one of your add-ons is limited to supporting 9.0.* versions only, or similar.
Anyone else have this issue and if so, more information?

Re: Pale Moon 9.1
I haven't updated to v9.1 because of the problem Norton gave me last time updating to (v9.0.1). I'm holding off to make sure Norton gets it's signatures updated so Norton doesn't kill v9.1 inadvertently leaving me without Pale Moon.
The only reason I stay with Norton on my Windows 7 machine is because the security suite has a firewall with it that I don't have to program since I'm computer illiterate. I don't know what "rules" I need to have to make a stand alone firewall work.
I would like to put Avast on this machine, but Avast doesn't include a firewall. Avast doesn't block or interfere with Pale Moon. I have been wondering about the firewall that comes with Windows 7 and wondering if it's any good.

I don't see this problem either.PCUser1111 wrote:I had to go back to 9.0.1.

Norton aren't going to fix anything unless it's complained about - install 9.1, if Norton messes it up, complain to them.Night Wing wrote:I haven't updated to v9.1 because of the problem Norton gave me last time updating to (v9.0.1). The native W7 firewall is less likely to break your connectivity (or cause BSOD's) than most 3rd party firewalls, Norton's included.Night Wing wrote:I would like to put Avast on this machine, but Avast doesn't include a firewall. I use avast! and the Windows Firewall. If you are security conscious, you can stay with Norton's firewall. If you are sure that you stay on the good side of the net, away from sites that will give you viruses (torrent sites, free movie sites, etc.), then you won't need anything more than the Windows Firewall.Night Wing wrote:I would like to put Avast on this machine, but Avast doesn't include a firewall. Yea, that is what I didn't understand. Um, it happened on http://norml.org/ & http://www.stonerforums.com/ .
This is how it happens, If I stay on one page for about 5 min unintended, reading a new opened page from the right click open in tab for a link, the second tab/webpage I was reading for about 5 min, I'd close it, then i'd go back to that main page that had been opened more than 5 minutes, goto right click open in new tab on any link, nothing happens. Reload the page, right click open in new tab works upto five minutes or so. This was for both sites listed above, thats when I went back to 9.0.1 did all of the same above, no problems what so ever.
Later I will reinstall 9.1 and try again, but usually I have pages opened for hours on 9.0.1 but in this case for 9.1 it happened immediately around 5 mins & never with 9.0.1.
All of my addons are compatible upto Firefox 12a or 12.
Cannot force ya, but I'd stay way far from symantec = norton. Use Comodo Free Firewall & Avira. http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ Direct download link for Comodo free firewall > http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/free-download.html , if you're worried about of viruses, use > http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus & http://www.malwarebytes.org/ & http://www.superantispyware.com/ . These are all free and top of the line products unlike symantec = norton.Night Wing wrote:I haven't updated to v9.1 because of the problem Norton gave me last time updating to (v9.0.1). I believe Comodo offers a all-in-one package as well, firewall, antivirus, defense+. The Comodo free firewall comes with the firewall & defense+. I would strongly recommend removing all symantec products from your pc.

Re: Pale Moon 9.1
I've spent some time trying to reproduce the problem on both sites and it works fine no matter how long pages are idled on. I even checked if ads might be a problem but they are two completely different ad services used, so that's unlikely to mess up a page either. I'm seriously at a loss what could be the problem off-hand; please give as much additional information about your setup as possible: OS, add-ons, any changes you've made to Pale Moon parameters (tweaking), etc etc etc

I also failed to reproduce this, idle times ranged from 3 minutes through to 1:32.

Well, after testing today, I let the browser chill for a few hours on those two pages, the problem seems not to exists anymore. Maybe when I did uninstall PM9.1 then reinstall of PM 9.0.1 then upgraded back to PM9.1, something got sorted out by itself. Odd. I apologize for taking up your guys time, I appreciate the help.cymroly wrote:I also failed to reproduce this, idle times ranged from 3 minutes through to 1:32.

Re: Pale Moon 9.1
Glad you got it sorted!
One important thing you should know: You should not have Status-4-evar and the Pale Moon status bar installed at the same time. The Pale Moon status bar is based on S4E and will conflict with it if both are active at the same time since they share interfaces and preferences.

Right after the generated list, I went in the install folder and deleted Pale Moon status bar. I usually do that right after upgrade or install.

Re: Pale Moon 9.1
That's not recommended - and in fact may in the future break Pale Moon.
I intend to move more options to the core add-on, although this is a slow process it will become more integral to Pale Moon.
