Pale Moon 9 unresponsive/crashes

Unread post by 013cougar » 2012-01-13, 02:09

Well I can no longer use Pale Moon which really makes me angry since I have loved it. With the new update, It will no longer respond, it did yesterday, but one of my games in facebook would not work said the Adobe Flash player crashed. I updated everything of my add ons and it still did not work, so I updated explorer and played that way. Today when trying to get online all I get is PaleMoon is not responding.

I hate explorer and greasemonkey won't work on it, firefox or cometbird won't import any of my bookmarks and passwords. Is there anyway I can get Pale Moon to work again?

In order to find the culprit of the crash you might have to take a trip to Event Viewer, that is more insightful to give us a starting point to finding the solution.

Re-install Flash and check again, unless you are adding plug-ins along when you mentioned add-ons. IE uses the ActiveX-version of Flash which is different to Firefox's plug-in version.

Search for bookmarks.html in your Pale Moon folder, it won't show up like that to me unless I go to the AppData version and it's just bookmark back-ups.

Out-of-line: Trixie is an alternative for Grease Monkey on IE.

Greasemonkey is, actually, VERY often the problem with Firefox/Pale Moon hanging and becoming unresponsive. It's a great tool but depending on the scripts you have active can also completely screw over the browser's functionality (especially if automation scripts get into a loop and grab all processing cycles). I assume you are trying to automate your gaming with it (always risky, and honestly not exactly fair)

Try starting Pale Moon with the SHIFT key depressed, and disable all your add-ons from the selection window you get then. See if Pale Moon will start then. If not, do the same but then actually start in Safe Mode. Let us know the results, please.
