custom setting for Pale Moon status bar not working on 9.0.1

Post by jaycelou » 2012-01-11, 00:48

Hi

I have recently upgraded to 9.0.1 x64 and realize that my custom setting through the build-in Pale Moon status bar 2.4a not working :(

I used to set pop-up for status text and links to be pop up on v.8 ;) but after upgraded to v.9.0.1 it doesn't work anymore

I'm running Windows XP x64 would that be a problem? I really need the pop-up to work coz my status bar is already full of staff  and no room for 'status' anymore  , so hope your guy could really help me out.

Thanks alot

Same here.

W7U 64-bit and using the 32-bit edition of PM.

Pop-up for links doesn't show anything where the pop-ups normally go, in this case it would hover over the statusbar, not even while hiding the statusbar.

Showing links in the Pop-up bar still shows on the statusbar.

There you have it, it's not just you nor your Windows version.

I've just browse through the forum and found that someone has problem with PM8 as well, but it works well for me.

Another thing is the status4evar.firstRun suppose to be true, I have check this also and it is false.

I've try to set to true but it goes back to false after restart. Any clue whats happening? :(

FF 9.0.1 doesn't have this line, i've check. So does it mean that it can be remove?

I'll have a look at this when I get back home. I may have to rework the add-on based on updates to the code, the code base for the current version (2.4a) is fairly old. I didn't get around to updating it before the release of v9. It'll be a drop-in replacement when done.

As for the FirstRun parameter, its correct that this gets reset. it is a re-initialization flag, and it will be set back to false when the add-on is re-initialized.

OK, seems the popup functionality is indeed broken.

I'll include the fixed status bar component in v10 - as a workaround in the meantime, I suggest the following:
  1. In the add-on manager, disable the Pale Moon status bar add-on
  2. Do a search in the add-on-manager for "Status-4-Evar"
  3. Install the latest available version, and restart Pale Moon
See the follow-up post ;)

If you have swapped to S4E, remember to disable/uninstall S4E and re-enable the Pale Moon status bar that is bundled with the browser after updating.

The Pale Moon status bar add-on has now been updated and is available for download.
