Basically, I get the prompt to update to the next version of Palemoon ( tonight it was version 8 ) and go OK with that, it downloads reckons it installs and will complete upon Palemoon restart.
I select to restart now and when palemoon comes back up I check the version number only to find that it has not updated.
Waste of bandwidth - waste of time - so I must be missing something.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: Palemoon updating not working
So you're still on v7.x of Pale Moon?
Without any given error messages to work on it's probably best to download the latest version and do a full upgrade http://www.palemoon.org/download-ng.shtml
You might want to read through the Mozillazine page http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update on the software update feature to see if there's anything there that may be applicable to your problem.

One advice I can give is that you clean-uninstall the old version and install the new version. It only takes a few minutes, they can add up with add-ons though. Every 6 weeks doesn't hurt, or it can, I am not you in this matter. It's only a suggestion.
