Palemoon 34.2.1 crashes with Bamboo Feed Reader
Operating system: Windows
Browser version: 34.2.1
32-bit or 64-bit browser?: 64 bit
Installed add-ons: Bamboo Feed Reader 2.3.2 https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/bamboo-feed-reader/
The new version of Palemoon crashes when a tab with Bamboo Feed Reader is shown:
Open a tab with the Bamboo content, wait some seconds. Palemoon suddenly closes.
I can reproduce the issue using an unmodified portable version of Palemoon with only this add-on installed.
This issue did not exist before, including version 34.2.0. So it must be one of the changes that have been made now.
I know this add-on is no longer officially supported, but unfortunately there’s nothing else that comes close to offering this functionality and clarity. For me, Bamboo is one of the reasons why I still use Palemoon, despite all its compatibility issues.

Re: Palemoon 34.2.1 crashes with Bamboo Feed Reader
Curious. release crashes, but the dev build I tested in first (trying out mimalloc) doesn't...
AH.. I see the branch point was before a bunch of commits. Looks like I'll have to bisect... :/

Re: Palemoon 34.2.1 crashes with Bamboo Feed Reader
Sorry I have nothing new to say, but I’m glad someone found it is related to Bamboo and hope this will be fixed as I need Bamboo too… It’s very hard to find a good RSS client.
Unfortunately I stopped saving old version of Pale Moon before updating a while ago, since new versions were always working fine… so I had to revert to 34.1.0.

Older versions of Palemoon can be downloaded here: http://archive.palemoon.org/palemoon/
For now, I've reverted to the previous version. It installed over the newer one without any issues, and the existing profile didn't cause any problems either, thanks to the minor version difference.

Many thanks to Fenchelina for identifying Bamboo as the proximate trigger for the crash. Like Fenchelina, I temporarily sidestepped the problem by downgrading to 34.2.0.

There are other feed readers available as well - personal favorites are NewsFox and Liveclick Lunar.

Since there are more priority sec bugs I need to audit, and publish sooner rather than later, there will be a point release soon where this issue will be fixed.
