How to add frogfind.com as a search engine plugin for the search bar?

Post by footnmouth » 2025-10-13, 04:15

Operating system: Windows XP 32-bit
Browser version: 28.10.7a1
32-bit or 64-bit browser?: 32
Problem URL:
Browser theme (if not default): Moonscape
Installed add-ons:
Installed plugins: (about:plugins):

Not sure if this is a simple thing to create myself but I didn't see http://frogfind.com as an search engine plugin on https://addons.palemoon.org/search-plugins/

Saw this nifty tool shared when searching the forums for an answer so it does seem possible but idk how to do it:

Pale Moon no longer supported Windows XP since version 27. You could try the Search Engine Editor extension by yup, but no guarantee it will work in your browser. Please ask in the appropriate support forum of where ever you got that browser from if it doesn't.

Why this doesn't work:
https://addons.palemoon.org/search/?ter ... e%20Editor

It should because there is a page for it:
https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/searchengineeditor/

Why this doesn't work:
Assuming this is a question?

Being able to find add-ons in search depends on the search keywords the add-on dev entered when publishing the add-on.

Isn't this just an ad/malware post? Since "http frogfind" gets a server error, and "https frogfind" gets "untrusted connection" with "frogfind.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.cloudwaysapps.com, cloudwaysapps.com (Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN)"

It's most likely just an innocent server error. The German version works: http://frogfind.de/

Source code for the search engine: https://github.com/ActionRetro/FrogFind
