Flash files fail in Pale Moon v38·8·1·1

Post by Mæstro » 2025-08-03, 02:02

I made a similar post about this problem in Web Compatibility, when I was under the false impression that my problem was limited to the Internet Archive. I am using the latest version of Pale Moon for Linux (38·8·1·1) with Clean Flash 34·0·0·137. Flash files no longer load at all, whether on archived websites, separate pages or locally saved files known to have worked before. Gathering information about this has been a confused process for me. One thread notes a similar problem plagued v38·8·1, moving Moonchiild to produce the current version, but the problem continues to affect the current version. I have tested this in a fresh profile, of course. I apologise for any confusion my flurry of posts about this topic with incomplete information might have caused, but I have discovered this bug has persisted and must report it.

Plugins when used in <object> tags are currently broken. I have a fix for this and am looking to release this as soon as possible (currently waiting for dbsoft to make Mac and FreeBSD builds). 33.8.1.2 will fix this.
