Cloudflare Verification Loop issues

An unexpected error occurred with the security check.

Might as well drop this here: lots of these Cloudflare checks infest PM with heavy scripts which don't get properly flushed from the system, and overtime pile up to cause slowness. Source: my intuition (it came to me in a daydream).

i'd prefer it didn't cause the browser to lock up for 5 to 10 seconds - which has not been explained

I am quite clearly talking about the single, dedicated page that's meant for testing alone. Do you really need THAT to work for some reason?

I can only guess that you might be talking about the standard CF check on all websites that use it. On some websites it does take longer indeed. In general, it seems slower than their previous working version, even though on some websites it remains fast. You can only blame Cloudflare for that.

The same lock up / freeze up happens on at least one website I use the same as the turnstile does and the effect persists so long as that website is open even after I've navigated away from the page with the check on it.
It's the only one out of maybe 5 sites I've checked since the fix was implemented, so it's 1 out of 5 for me that does this. The freeze / lock up happens while the CF check is "Verifying" and then even after I've passed the check, the browser is sluggish and periodically freezes for a few seconds every few seconds until that page is closed. The turnstile page does a similar thing.

It's been the way for us (devs) to check and discuss their API checks and work on getting to something we agree on. So it's not important for end users but it is important for coming to an agreed-upon feature set that is significantly difficult for bots to mimic.
So it does need to get solved for their scripting to work on Pale Moon without special carveouts

I was lucky enough to not hit this issue the past time(s) it popped up, but a small private forum I use just had to enable further protections after getting absolutely hammered with bots, and so I'm stuck in loopsville there. My sincere thanks to everyone who's attempting to deal with Cloudflare's nonsense and hopefully get things resolved.

Cloudflare fixed the problem on their end about a week ago, you shouldn't be having this problem right now.

Apparently the fix didn't take for everything, or a new issue cropped up, because I was seeing that exact same looping behavior just this afternoon.

Is that still on that one small forum that you reported was causing the endless loop? Could be that they have incorrect Cloudflare settings. I don't think we've seen another report like this all week in the forum by anyone on the current version of Pale Moon. You might want to try Pale Moon on that site with a clean profile and no extensions, or at least try clearing your cache and the cookies for that site.

I'm not sure if the site changed their settings, but I stopped getting the Cloudflare verification page entirely later in the day. If it pops up again I'll try those suggestions. I don't really want to bother the site admin about it otherwise, since he's one guy hosting a site for a bunch of oldhead nerds and he's doing the best he can against the bot onslaught.

I'm thinking he may have just had the Cloudflare settings wrong. Probably takes awhile to get used to the settings when a site admin first starts using it, and then finds that he has to adjust them as the complaints start rolling in from members who can't access it.

Cloudscam crashes PaleMoon, tested on two system, win7 & win10.
Also crashes Basilisk and Dactyloidae.

Problem occurs ~12 hours ago.

Confirmed on Linux as well. I would say so much for them trying to have a positive relationship with us, but it's possible they've exposed an actual bug in UXP that needs to be fixed.
