Here is an oddity.

My linux Pale Moon cannot get to the Wine site, but Waterfox and Firefox can.

I am a visitor on the MX Linux Forum site since I am not a registered member. For awhile, using Pale Moon, I got the CF challenge and it let me through when I checked the box for the site. This allowed me to read their forum posts and navigate to other areas on the site as a visitor.

But lately, when I visit the MX Linux Forum site using Pale Moon, I am no longer encountering the CF challenge. I go straight to the site without any problems.

But I do get the CF challenge when using both linux Waterfox and linux Firefox. After passing the successful challenge, I can visit the site when using Waterfox or Firefox.

Maybe CF is partly to blame, but maybe the maintainers of the site are partly to blame as well. I'll explain below.

Since I visit the MX Linux Form site as a visitor multiple times of the day to read the posts on that site, maybe the maintainers of the MX Forum site are noticing my linux Pale Moon browser and are now allowing me to visit their site so I do not have to encounter the CF challenge anymore.

In essence, my Pale Moon browser might now be considered as a "regular visitor" instead of a bot because of the length of time I spend on their site. Just a guess on my part.

Starting today I'm getting the never-ending Cloudflare loop on the PCLinuxOS forums. I posted a thread there (using Chromium) about it.

Clouldflare does not have that good of a track record in my opinion.

CF experienced large outages in November of 2025 and also in February of 2026. These outages caused large chunks of the internet, where sites under protection from CF, quit working for many users who were trying to get to the sites they use on a regular basis. Me included.

Same reason why we did, probably: to survive the constant onslaught of bot traffic on the open Internet that nobody seems to care about addressing.

And it's broken again for me, on at least one website. Tried in a completely blank profile and it goes into a verify - fail loop.

Reminder that that #1 solution (that just werks) is opening Waterfox on the side for any infinite loops.

Most loops are not infinite however, so PM + patience.

That’s a bizarre solution
I don’t have WF installed anymore
Might as well use another browser at that point

What I usually do is open a dialog box in 4chan request captcha, close it after then reopen and search something in google which causes Palemoon to not respond on my ancient machine, then when it recovers the tickbox is usually there

But now I just get an error with the red arrow thing for like a split second before it loops again

Waterfox Classic is no more updated (last updated in 2022) and its repository on github got marked as archived at the end of last year (i.e. all developments stopped and it's now abandoned).

Nice, but it doesn't show how to send the data to cloudflare support.

If you go to https://dash.cloudflare.com/login (their support site) and try to do stuff there - well, guess what protects it. However, that does provide a 'troubleshoot' button that pops up a window into which you can put a very limited amount of detail (not much more than the error code and they Ray ID) - certainly not everything you get from the troubleshooter. And it goes like a drain, it really does. How a simple window with ONE text box can go so slowly is beyond me.

Ahh I see, well just adding another data point then. Me too, happening on any site with CF on it same as you guys. Same error code.

Wonder if they'll fix it or if we have to raise hell again...? Getting really tiresome though.
