How reach maximum compatibility ActiveX (old web camera)

Unread post by Barabba » 2024-11-04, 21:21

Hi, unfortunately Internet Explorer (also under Win7) has been developed to don't support more the old activex plugin files provided by cameras, I have some still working but I can't more configure their motion detector/draw areas, I'm looking for a browser where I can select zero safety (run everthing at my own risks) and have those plugins working whne needed.
I've tried this browser, it finds the activex module ready for running, it ask me to accept it and reload the browser, but then again it ask the same. How can I accept all/low to zero all defenses?
Thank you a lot!

ActiveX controls only work in MSIE. For it to work in Pale Moon you will need the NPAPI version of the plugin.

Hi! Thanks for answer, of course this is not possibile since the camera is old, no support/new girmware is given and the plugin comes from its own firmware.
I need to find a way to run an old version of Internet explorer, should I install an old version of Windows7 for it? Is that so difficilt? Any IE old version portable exist? Should I run a virtual machine and install there old Win7?
Thanks

It just depends on if the camera vendor provided a "netscape style" plugin for Firefox/Mozilla or not. It physically a different type of file.
