I had installed Palemoon 32.5.0 portable shortly after is was release. I usually keep the history window open and delete unwanted history and use it to find things I was looking at but didn't bookmark. So it sort of works like a super bookmark of sorts the way I use it. Anyway, two weeks after installing the then latest portable version the history stopped being recorded even though I had been to tons of different URLs. I figured it was a bug. So I check the Palemoon website and saw that a slightly newer version was out 32.5.1. I upgraded my portable installation and the problem persists. I searched the forum but didn't see any similar problem posted related to history. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks.

We've had a lot of warnings over the years about how the noscript extension can corrupt Pale Moon profiles. I wonder if this stoppage of history recording is a result of using noscript?

I have no reason to suspect that noscript is causing a problem. I have been using it in Palemoon since before v32.5.0 without any problems. I have entries all the way back to 3-24-23, but nothing after 11-16-23. I can delete existing entries but no new entries appear. Even after upgrading to the latest 32.5.1 version.

One thing I noted in your config is this line:

On my browser it is marked as 'true', which is apparently the default. I don't know what places.history.enabled does exactly, but according to this Arkenfox thread it could be a problem if you set it to false: https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js/issues/1471

Have you had it set to false for very long?

I didn't change anything unless the portable version some how came that way by mistake??


Update:

Just looked under Tools>Preferences>Privacy> And checked "Remember My Browsing & Download History". Don't know how that got unchecked. I don't remember doing that. So, problem solved. :clap: :D
