But your OS is not 1809 LTSC.

I clicked on the link you provided and no blank spaces, no problems. I even stayed for awhile clicked on many things and still no blank spaces and no dying.

But I am not using 32 bit windows Pale Moon or using Windows 10 either. At this time I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 32.5.0 running in 64 bit linux Mint 21.2 (Victoria) Xfce. And this is with uBlock Origin 1.16.4.30 enabled when I visited the site.

The only other extension I use is Zoom Label (1.2).

MX Linux 23.2 (Libretto) Xfce w/ Linux Pale Moon, Linux Waterfox, Linux SeaLion, Linux Firefox

Tools -> Preferences -> Content -> Defaul font, Advanced button.
Try disabling the checkbox "Allow pages to choose their own fonts...".

Looks like a bug in Windows' font handling causing an out-of-memory situation in the browser. Likely related to accelerated drawing of fonts.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Preferences -> Advanced and restarting the browser.
If that doesn't help, try changing the preference gfx.content.azure.backends to skia, cairo and restarting the browser.

Thanks.
Disabling hardware acceleration in Preferences -> Advanced doesn't help, but changing the preference gfx.content.azure.backends to skia, cairo helps.

problem confirmed. also running Win10 LTSC 2019 x64 v1809 OS build 17763.4974
problem also occurs even with the newest v1809 November 2023 cumulative update installed (build 17763.5122)

setting "gfx.content.azure.backends" to "skia, cairo" in PM 32.5.0 and then reloading it no longer makes PM crash on that gitlab page OP mentioned

I do happen to know from research that our codebase does use cairo for font rendering, not sure when I looked into that, but I remember seeing it somewhere... and if reordering the backends like that makes a difference, it sounds like there could be a problem with the way our cairo implementation interacts with older versions of Windows 10? It seems like 1809 and 1909 are the Windows 10 builds I see the most bugs reported against...

Latest version of Windows 10 works fine, though.

I don't think it's a cairo problem. I think it's a Direct2d problem (which specifically accelerates fonts and layers). 1809 seems to have a broken implementation that Pale Moon tickles the wrong way.

i'm gonna test again with something close to the original LTSC 2019 v1809 17763.1 build (w/out any recent updates to it)
I know for sure the d2d1.dll file (the MS Direct2D library file) was updated sometime last year in 2022

my previous post edited to mention build 17763.5122 which is from the Nov 2023 update for LTSC 2019 v1809

that gitlab site OP mentioned no longer crashes in Palemoon 33.1.0 under Win10 x64 LTSC 2019 v1809 build 17763.5696 (April 2024 update for LTSC 2019).
loads fine without a problem on my end with PM 33.1.0.

and "gfx.content.azure.backends" is set to "direct2d1.1,cairo" by default, not "skia, cairo"

maybe also try clearing & rebuilding the windows font cache
