Already specified the websites this occurs on, typing becomes frozen for 5-10 seconds. Other running apps. that may or may not effect it - KeyScrambler 64/32 run parallel as one app.. No direct connection to live chats or live video chats. Replicates on other browsers the same way but longer time to get there - Firefox, Seamonkey.

First off, I recommend updating your video driver to something that isn't 4 years old. While I'm not sure if the current driver set will run on Win 8.1, I do think there is something more recent available...

Next, there's a key piece of information here:

This means it's not something Pale Moon specific and you should look for issues that might be system-wide.
Considering you're complaining about lagging input and you're using "keyscrambler", that seems to be the most likely culprit at first glance.

Thank you, will try without KeyScrambler, if it turns out to be it, I'll have to live with the lag.
"Update Drivers" is a fallacy when not buggy or not Microsoft. Also not possible on my current system.
Best GPU driver is the one most compatible with the software that use it most - video games.
Windows 8.1 will not recognize any Windows 7 drivers past version 19 (2019AD). I could try Windows 10 drivers, but why break something that works ? Also had a problem processing transactions in Palemoon, exclusive, and banks don't allow logins, like CHASE.

I googled up this KeyScrambler thing, and I'm wondering, is it actually good for anything? I mean, you're probably not working in the military or spending 90% of the time at porn and warez sites... paranoia is fairly useless, isn't it?

IMHO it is placing the security barrier in the wrong location. If you have a keylogger on your system, you have much bigger problems to worry about than realtime interception of keystrokes (most malware doesn't even bother with keylogging). But whatever makes people feel safer, I guess.

Checked without it, rechecked with other browsers. Palemoon has a problem, gets clogged up rather quickly. Mainly in those 2 websites. Seems to have a problem in most forums. And like I said, attempted a transaction and it failed, just refused the final click, button was off as if waiting for data that was already put in. Is there a "compatible with" form that servers are friendlier to ? I mean all I have is: Firefox, Gecko & Native. I want to keep this as my main browser for all the security, but are there defaults standing in the way of normal browsing. Have you tested yours in Gab & GoG (forum) ? Obviously it's not a consumption of RAM, Mozilla Firefox fixed their problem on that and my browsing rarely passes 2GB. Does your programming use Virtual Memory, the old MS leak & crash source ? Because I turned that off on my PC. So far I get no input from you. Firefox + Keylogger seems to have no problem in this forum, but then again, your server maybe optimized differently.

Loading that gab.com is initially a bit sluggish on my older computers (talking 15 years old) because it is loading content that is initially off screen, but once it finishes it performs fine. gog.com I don't see any lag issues with.

I don't think this is up to the program. I believe this is up to the operating system.

I don't believe this is correct. There aren't major stability issues with Windows and virtual memory from what I recall going back to Windows 3.1.

Except of course if you turn it off!

That is a horrible idea on Windows. And a decently bad idea on Linux. (I have no idea about MacOS behavior here.) You are going to want at least a little bit of virtual memory/swap space. I'm quite sure some OS processes simply assume it's going to be there. But good luck to you I guess.

I am not here to argue why I turned off MS-VM. I am here to get a solution for the seemingly defective Palemoon Browser.
Where others perform better in its place, I gave you too much information, so as to be able to side-track and attack me.
I am not a novice windows user by far and I like my SSDs to last a bit longer than your emotional denial of facts. I was running without VM without a hitch since Windows XP.
I was under the impression that the Palemoon Devs. read, respond, look into these posts. Not the run of the mill gulag trendies.
Maybe I am wrong about this forum, but regardless, I had nowhere better to turn to.

I have no problem getting in, just that after a few comments posted or even pages flipped within the site (1 tab), the browser gets lagged, not much ram use. Also seems to have problems validating transactions or something to that effect. I assumed certificates are updated when the browser is.

Gab.com is FBI monitored and behind Cloud Flare Servers. Just a little info you might want to know about, before you make statements like the above.

I'm sorry but if you configure your system in a non-standard way that causes issues for the applications you run on it, then that is absolutely relevant.
That isn't an "attack", it is being advised not to do so.

If you're that afraid of using the site because of your unhealthy dose of paranoia, then the solution is simple: do not use it.
Even so, if your fear is that the FBI will monitor your keystrokes on your local machine, somehow, then keyscrambler will do absolutely nothing since they are on the other end :D

Now, please dial it back a few notches. Don't start accusing people who are trying to help of things the moment they have an opinion that differs from your own and focus on what you want to achieve with the browser and your use of it. Follow suggested steps to alleviate the problem. Since we can't reproduce the issue ourselves and you're also stating similar behaviour occurs with other browsers (whether to the same degree or not doesn't matter! It shouldn't occur at all) it's obviously something outside of the browser's operational area. Our direct assistance will be limited as a result. If you're being abrasive then you're likely going to just push what little assistance we can give out of your reach, too.

Also, don't skim over what i just typed. Please read and understand it, calmly. If you're not calm, get some tea first :coffee:

Websites can and do track everything you do on them, regardless of any settings or applications you try to use. As an example, I love to show people this "product demo": https://mouseflow.com/demo/. This one's well known so adblockers actually manage to detect and block it, but any site you visit has the same full access to every tiny mouse movement, every click, every key press, regardless of what you do. It's basic javascript functionality, and it has been for decades. If you're truly worried about your privacy, you should not be using the internet. Period.

Dude you're out there. Like the effing Pluto.

Conclusion - Tested Palemoon with no Keyscrambler, Installed Win 10. Tested again, no addons. Palemoon gets clogged, Firefox does not, usually with just 1 page open. Any developers out here can test Gab & GoG (Forum) with your browser & can duplicate the problem ? :geek:
Windows 8.1 64bit.
AMD FX-8370/ASUS Sabertooth 990-FX V1 R2.
ASUS Strix RX-570 (4GB).
16GB Corsair DDR 3 (XMP 2400mhz).
2tb & 4tb SSDs & Asus Blueray Optical Drive.
Corsair 850W Fully Modular PSU.
Corsair H100i Liquid Cooler.
Corsair Carbide Series 110Q.

Just used a fresh 32.2.1x64 portable on a weak-ish win10 laptop, gog.com/forum works just fine, no slugishness, just the usual loading of all the extra scripts you can block if you just want to read the forum.

gog.com doesn't feel more sluggish than opening it in gog-galaxy (which is their chromium-app), so doesn't feel like something is wrong with it outside of it being a big blob of moving elements/images which all wants to load itself.

The gab.com homepage is pretty laggy and sluggish. Trying to scroll down is an ordeal. Browser memory usage goes up quickly. Clicking on another page (Videos for example) and it's much smoother. The home page is terrible though.
