automatic url alteration

Unread post by jdpls » 2022-11-30, 04:10

i really don't know which part of the forum to put this on, but i'll try here. is there a way to force/change urls to be what i want them to be? the only use case for it i have right at this moment is forcing youtube shorts to play on the normal video page, so it would change the "/shorts/" to the normal "/watch?v="

That's an interesting idea (personally I have uBlock Origin filtering out all shorts from YouTube so I don't have to see them in my subscriptions--my first uBO filter usage).

It is possible the Pure URL extension could be configured to accomplish this?

But maybe not. If not, there is surely a more appropriate extension that can do what you're asking.

I guess you could do that with https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/url-rewriter/ maybe? Never used it, but sounds like that.

I wonder if this will also be a thing Chrome won't allow anymore soon.
