That setting was replaced by a new config setting:
network.http.useragent.global_override
You have to add it.

Is there any reason why you have to use a global override instead of a site-specific one? Like general.useragent.override.mail.com?

He'll soon be back when other sites stop working.

Yes. Its because every update changes the agent and then sites freak out. I just leave it set to that and it works fine.
I was using newmoon a few years but am now using PM again and obviously had some catching up to do.

Mail . com was working fine and says it wants FF 33 or higher, which it is. Its throw away so not a big deal

thanks

Which is why site specific UA overrides exist along with extensions to make it easier to set them. Changing it globally will break sites that wouldn't complain otherwise.

Welcome back Cartel. It's been a while since we've seen you around!

We haven't materially changed the user agent for years! I'm not sure what you are even talking about.
As said if sites "freak out" (whatever that means) then make a site-specific override for them. That way you "lock in" one specific user agent string for problematic sites and browser updates won't cause issues (only website updates would).
