Hi,
I am running Win Vista 64. When trying to launch pale moon(x32) as I am logged in to my usual limited account, I get the following message,
"Pale Moon is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Pale Moon process, or restart your system."
I just right clicked on pale moon in the start menu and ran it as administrator. It launched but of course it is running as administrator, not my normal/everyday limited account, not good or acceptable.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, 5words

Re: Pale Moon is already running
If you just updated, it's possible the previous version of Pale Moon did not shut down properly - you may have to give your system a reboot in that case.

Hi Again,
I appreciate your timely response. I have already uninstalled (x64) & (x32), re-installed (x32), rebooted, copied profile file, etc.
I never did any upgrades as I had the latest version. Seems to work OK when logged in as administrator, starts up just fine. I still get the same error message though when trying to launch pale moon from my everyday use limited account.
Thanks Again, 5words

Re: Pale Moon is already running
This would probably be caused by your limited account not having the proper access rights to your own profile folder. It seems to happen most on Windows Vista, and is a problem shared with Firefox.
For a solution, please see:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use
You may have to go in as Administrator and change the access rights to your profile folder to allow your limited account explicit access to your files and folders there (read and write).

Re: Pale Moon is already running
I thought about that but did not try it yet, even after copying my Firefox profile over to Pale Moon. Firefox 8 is running fine BTW. I'll go take a look at the access rights again. Wish me luck.

Update!
Logging in as admin and trying to change access rights on the limited account did not work as admin did not have permission to do so. Limited account user "did" have full access rights though. Logged in as limited user and edited the profiles.ini file as it was trying to access the wrong profile number, changed it to match the number of the default profile of the limited account which I believe I copied in there earlier as the migration tool did not work for me. I could not do this when logged in as the admin. Finally got Pale Moon working, Whoopee! I have to say that the task manager reports that it is using more memory than Firefox. Looks like the flash plugin for these browsers just died again... What else is new?
