How do I update or reload Pale Moon to the latest revision and not lose all my passwords? I have a bunch of them and I am (lazy) hoping to avoid retyping all of them. I apologize for not doing a better search for the answer to this query. Thank you for your help.
My husband reloaded Pale Moon to get around the rev 30 problem but lost his passwords in the process.

Re: Passwords and PM 30 question
Why not :
- Backup your Pale Moon Profile.
- Backup your installed Pale Moon version or simply your whole OS.
- Upgrade Pale Moon.
- If anything goes wrong you have a decent backup to restore.
Or :
- Copy your Pale Moon Profile on to an USB Stick.
- Prepare another USB Stick with a Live Linux environment.
- Disconnect/Remove Local Storage.
- Boot from the USB Stick with the Live Linux environment.
- Install a slightly older Pale Moon version.
- Copy your Pale Moon Profile into the Live Linux environment.
- Then upgrade Pale Moon and check the if everyone is still working.
In other words : Testing it before applying it is IMHO the only way to be sure all goes as wanted
I even DD copy/clone SSD #1 to SSD #2 sometimes when I need to test something!

FWIW.
Pale Moon 30.0 which I assume, everyone knows was recalled. But the entire linux Mint 17 series, 17, 17.1, 17.2 and 17.3 reached end of life sometime in the year 2019.

Re: Passwords and PM 30 question
THANK YOU!!!
I will try your suggestion.
As to my still running Mint 17, I've got my toolbox arranged the way I like it. That is the type of curmudgeon I am. It took alot for me to move away from windows xp.

Re: Passwords and PM 30 question
There's a chance also the passwords aren't actually lost, but if they were protected by a master password and FIPS mode was enabled it is possible that they are still there. The release notes for PM 31.1 discuss how to check if it's enabled in either PM 31.1 or PM 29. http://www.palemoon.org/releasenotes.shtml
