Pale Moon mobile view add-on?

Unread post by olafmi » 2021-10-23, 14:31

I have already asked in German under forum. Ask again here. I hope I can now get more answers:

Is there an add-on for Pale Moon where pages are displayed in the mobile view?

If the mobile version has different URL (for example prepending m. to url) then you could try with this addon https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/url-rewriter/

Alternatively you could try the built-in Responsive Design Mode (RDM) option available in Pale Moon's Developer Tools menu? :)

Instructions for using the version of Responsive Design Mode in current Pale Moon are in this MDN article: https://web.archive.org/web/20170424131 ... efox_52%29

The MDN article notes: "While Responsive Design Mode is enabled, you can continue browsing as you normally would in the resized content area."

Open the Responsive Design Mode via:
  • AppMenu (Pale Moon) button > Developer Tools menu > select RDM
  • Menu Bar > Tools > Developer Tools menu > select RDM
  • Control + Shift + M

In some cases the mobile view is used depending on the user agent, so you can try changing it with sasuga or something, but as time goes by website designers seem to learn that user agents don't really tell you if a device is a mobile one so they rely on screen size instead.
On the other hand, most websites are focusing primarily on mobile, so there's a good chance what you see now is already the mobile view.

Thank you for your answers. But I prefer an add-on
