Google Maps 3D View doesn't work

Since last week, Google Map's 3D View has been disabled, and can't be enabled again. It shows this message in the bottom of the page:

Which translates into "Earth 3D View isn't available". The text is a link which points to https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3096703.

Up to that point, the 3D View worked without problem. Changing the default useragent for google.com to emulate Firefox 91.0 (the latest version) makes no difference at all, either in a private window or in a clean setup of Pale Moon Portable 29.4.0 (with a clean profile, of course).

Is this something that can be solved by an updated useragent, or is the change deeper?

Google services for Google browser, etc etc. You'll see this only get worse as time passes.

Works here but laggy and slow compared to Firefox and Chromium, also it says to me "You are currently running an experimental version of Earth" which is interesting, I didn't know was I living on the development version of the planet or that there was one.

First, click on the Layers icon on the lower left corner and select More:

The check the Earth View check box near the bottom (which in my case is deactivated because Google says my browser isn't compatible):

Your link is to the web version of Google Earth, which is a different product than Google Maps (Google is the only company which competes with itself and still makes money). That explains the experimental thing, too . My post is about the 3D view in Google Maps, accessible either via https://google.com/maps or https://maps.google.com/.

So the map tilts when it is 3D. I remember that now, from when the interface was more experimental.

Be glad that they aren't forcing webcomponents on google maps yet. they are on earth, for sure, judging by the thread pegging typical for their webcomponent scripting when it finds no support
