'Ctrl'/Mouse Scroll Wheel Text-Size Question

Unread post by van p » 2021-05-30, 00:31

I recently learned that text size on the monitor screen could be increased/decreased by holding down the 'Ctrl' key and turning the mouse scroll wheel. On other browsers I've tried, when I do this, a size percent number appears in the URL/address box on the right end. Nothing shows in Pale Moon. What's up? Thanks.

Good for them.
I'm quite sure there are extensions around somewhere that will give you an option to see the zoom percentage.

By the way: Zoom percentage has nothing to do with the address you are visiting so it doesn't belong in the address bar... If other browsers place it there they clearly have not thought even one second about UI logic.

It was never shown in Pale Moon.
Honestly I think the percent indicator is kind of useless, but I digress.
I think there are extensions to show it, but I'm not really sure; search the usual places (foruk, APMO, etc.) if you need to.

Ninja'd by Moonchild but I had written it already so I'm going to post anyway.

I'm not saying that's a good place for it; that's just where it is.

"Useless?" It shows if it's been changed and by how much. Don't seem "useless" to me, especially if it's a small change and not immediately obvious.

In any event, I guess Moonchild's answer tells me what I need to know. Thanks.

You may want to try the NoSquint extension.

The NoSquint extension provides the option to zoom the full page (images & text) or just text only.

It also has the option to show the zoom level in the status bar.

This extension works with your ctrl+mouse scroll wheel shortcut.

Well, one could always try porting over the more advanced functionality from Borealis (yes I know the repo isn't public.. it can be worked around) to Pale Moon but I am not sure many would appreciate it. An extension may be best because Pale Moon isn't totally about every bell and whistle possible inbox. Not minimal but not ridiculously flooded with controls either.

Suffice it to say code exists and can be gotten easily for someone to do a thing.
