Reported Pale Moon (White Star, actually) user-agent

Unread post by Goodydino » 2021-05-25, 22:26

I now have a new Mac with MacOS Big Sur and have noticed that most browsers seem to report the user-agent OS version as something different from what it actually is. Pale Moon's user-agent is reported as 10.16 instead of 11.4. Why? What is really strange is how the chromium browsers' user-agents are reported (as 10.15.7). Why would that be?

Please contact the developer of your browser for all queries. This is not the place to discuss anything Mac related anymore.

AFAIK it means the White Star dev isn't using a recent enough Mac SDK to build against, but as pointed out, that's all we can say and you should direct any questions towards their forum (they have one set up, to my knowledge).
