How to export passwords to new profile?
Somehow my Pale Moon profile got messed up, so I'm creating a new profile.
I need to export my passwords from the old profile and import them into the new profile.
I've searched this forum and found reference to an extension called 'Password Backup Tool' but it is no longer in the Add-ons list.
Is it simply a matter of copying some files from the old profile to the new profile? If so, could someone let me know which files to copy?
Otherwise, is there some other method to export and import the passwords?

Go find JustOff's Password Exporter extension from his github.
DO NOT try to manually mangle your profile files.

I too use the Password Backup Tool.
As indicated above, it can be installed from here by clicking the xpi.
1. Install it to the old profile and export a backup file (choice of .xml or .csv).
2. Install it to the new profile to import the backup.

I am sure that it will be forked eventually but there are more imporant prospects to help mitigate the aftermath of next Tuesday.

Re: How to export passwords to new profile?
I personally would continue to use Password Backup Tool regardless if it's forked.

I personally don't give a shit what you use. Maybe you should grab some coffee and take a good long break from posting shit that is becoming increasingly contradictory to what we, who actually know what we are talking about, are saying.

Well, we are both welcome to our opinions.
Speaking personally, a fork being on Phoebus isn't inherently a reason to switch to it.
And I expect JustOff will keep up with any future changes and keep Password Backup Tool working fine.
Others may feel differently, as is their right.

Your continued sycophancy for JustOff specifically and your tendancy to insert yourself contradictory against authoritative stances in general will not be tollerated forever.

Of course you can use whatever extension you like in your browser, from whatever source. Explicitly using extensions from un-vetted sources while alternatives from APMO exist, though, may have some consequences in case you have trouble with the browser in terms of how much help you'll get. So there certainly is an inherent reason to switch to it if you expect support.coffeebreak wrote: ↑2021-04-22, 14:49Speaking personally, a fork being on Phoebus isn't inherently a reason to switch to it.
