flickering page
does anyone have an issue with moving your mouse around and the page you're on flickers? If you move the mouse up and down the page it's like a flickering accordian. Adobe is installed, don't know what else it could be, any suggestions?

Re: flickering page
Sounds like you have some issues with the graphics hardware acceleration. This can especially be a problem if you have particularly old graphics hardware or if you are using embedded graphics. It can also be caused by system software (e.g. Windowblinds).
Try updating your video card drivers.
If that doesn't work, the other option would be to disable hardware acceleration in the browser. Go to tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General (tab) -> Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available"

I gave the uncheck hardware a try, maybe it will work. There are no updates for my video card, ati radeon mobility 9000/9100...this is an hp and I don't think there are updates, at least not on their site. oh well, thanks.

Re: flickering page
The latest version of your display drivers would be the Catalyst™ 6.11 Display Driver - if it were the desktop version of the ATI 9000/9100 series! Try filling in the blanks at http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx or try the auto-detect method there.paleuser wrote:I gave the uncheck hardware a try, maybe it will work. When I had a similar problem whilst temporarily using an older (nVidia 5200 series) graphics card, turning off hardware acceleration in Mozilla-based browsers cured it completely.

Re: flickering page
Yes, that's not really supported. Even if you can find updated drivers, that chipset is very poor in terms of 3D acceleration (which is used for the hardware acceleration of Pale Moon) so you'll have to turn of the HW acceleration in options.paleuser wrote:There are no updates for my video card, ati radeon mobility 9000/9100...

Re: flickering page
I tried the auto detect, and it said "can't find the video card or operating system. guess my little ole pavilion has grown into outdated. A while ago the graphics are somewhat scrambled, homepage sections mixed up. I checked some other browsers I have, Mozilla and IE and they were OK. I don't know what this is about. Can you tell me how to put the "about config" back to default? I think I'll start over with changing areas to tweak the browser. Still going to leave the hardware acceleration unchecked for the time being.
Re: flickering page
I disabled the add-ons to see if the homepage would return to normal, it's still scrambled, graphics misplaced, instead of spread out naturally as they usually are the are length wise mostly in a single row to the left of the screen.

Re: flickering page
I suggest you select help -> restart with add-ons disabled, this will present you with the "Pale Moon safe mode selection" dialog. In that dialog, check to "reset toolbars and controls" and "reset all user preferences" to set Pale Moon back to its defaults.
Remember that using HW acceleration is also a default so you'll have to switch that back off.

Re: flickering page
before coming back to this thread reading your post, I deleted something from the home page "ubernote" never used it, and thought this could be what the problem was, then I reloaded the page and it was back to normal. I don't really know if that was it but, anyhow, it's back. I think I'll do a total default reset and start over with palemoon. thankyou.

Re: flickering page
"ubernote" is definitely not something that is default in Pale Moon. Also, it seems what little I can find about it, it's a toolbar that hasn't been updated since v3, and shouldn't even work unless you've disable the compatibility checking for add-ons.
Sounds better indeed if you start fresh - that should fix your content issues. (although we're getting off-topic here on the flickering
