newest update ... browser extremely slow :-(

Post by djchv » 2020-10-29, 07:18

hello everyone, I've been using palemoon for years, I'm a fan ... :-)
but it's getting worse ... now after the latest updates the browser is so extremely slow ... sometimes it takes 3-5 seconds for a click ... so when i click a link the reaction takes 3-5 seconds. ... until he accepts the command ... except for the session manager, I have uninstalled all addons ...
I always have about 200 tabs open ...!
have now reduced that to about 100 ... unfortunately that doesn't help ...
I have now also installed the old 28.9.3 times ... but there it is now the same problem ... I can no longer help myself
my pc has good performance i9-9900k 32GB ram! That can not be it :-)
Please help ...
alternatively, I tried to get all tabs and all passwords in firefox so that I can work ... but even that I fail ... :-(
is there a tutorial for this?

If it's unrelated to version and an previously working version is displaying the same problem, then it's almost certainly other software you have installed on your system like antivirus interfering with the browser's operation.

The daily session for me is running about 10-12 windows, each at least 1 active tab , 2 Facebook accounts, all under 3 profiles opened simultaneously, and Pale Moon is snappy. I think his problem is elsewhere

profile issue or cache needs clearing.
SSD drive im assuming so not a drive issue (probably).

fresh clean re-install of pale moon could be beneficial.

So 28.9.3 was working OK.
And then you put in ? 28.15.0, & with that the slowness came about?
Or had it been slow before, only now worse?

Certain files in your Profile (don't ask me to recall which), over time, as they grow, can cause slowness.

You might test...

creating a new Profile
installing your (sounds like you have a Profile Manager ?) extension
migrate your saved sessions from old to new
run new, & see if it is still slow

I can confirm that after reverting to 28.0.0 after the YT issues with 28.15, Pale Moon has become unuseably slow. YouTube freezes partway through the page loading process, some elements appear, but page is mostly just white and blank. I usually have a dozen or more tabs and 2 or 3windows open simultaneously. It would be good to fix this because, for now, it's extremely difficult to work with PaleMoon. :(

We don't support 28.0.0, and having reverted from 28.15 to 28.0 you have created profile incompatibility.

If you want to fix this, install 28.15.0 and start with a fresh profile.

i'm on version 29.1.0 I may have 2 tabs open got to open a 3rd tab and it takes forever the website for the 3rd tab to load. I tested on chrome and brave. same number of tabs and websites load quickly.
