SeaMonkey had the same problem. I blocked an external javascript called "www-tampering.js" from YouTube for both and the problem disappeared. I thought those filter lists for uBlock Origin got updated automatically anyway. Why was there no problem with the chromium browsers or with Safari?

They do, just not every other minute.
You should force the update process, to get the latest fixes now!

Most likely because the automatic update process, which you refered to, simply hadn't kicked in yet, for those browsers.
Therefore, they didn't download the problem rule, which was added earlier today, but has now been removed!

No problem here, I found ublock a bit too involved... back to adblock latitude.. using easylist and fanboy annoyance filter!

well I had not updated since 20th, 22 update seems to have no problem??

I also had to get rid of YouTube Lazy Load. I found another autoplay stopper which works and causes no problems.

er, link??? the only constant is 'change' ... YT changes stuff *again* , some other thing creeps in, needing *massive* rewrite...

................... and it looks like I have managed to switch of 'updates' again...

So, issue seems to be back, and I notice that disabling easylist makes it go away. Would this just be a case of waiting for the folks at easylist to release an update, or something else...??

It's universal, across every video. Disabling easylist eliminates the issue, but that's not a great cure.

I'm referring to videos on youtube itself. After I updated the list the other day, everything went back to normal. Today it's back to snokkered...

Well, whatever it might be that's causing it, uBO isn't affected.
I'll test with ABL..

YouTube videos play just fine for me, with EasyList enabled in ABL.
Are you sure that you're using the standard EasyList version, and not some type of localized fork?

Ok, youtube does seem to work with uBO. Issue with that one is that it doesn't have the element hider that I like...
