The video plays fine on my end with the default UserAgent for Firefox Compatibility (no site specific override).Kathuluforz wrote: ↑2020-01-09, 16:09While I am not experiencing the OP's issue, I have just recently been getting this on every vid i view:
Pale Moon does have a built-in site-specific UA override for YouTube (it's a modified string for Firefox 42) - unless that override itself is edited, it serves as Pale Moon's default UA for YouTube, so that's what you both have likely been using.Kathuluforz wrote: ↑2020-01-09, 17:46@gepus Funny you say that...I went and tried the stock Gecko user agent (as I had not tried that one) and voila'! the video plays right off! [...] then I checked again using the FF and Native user agent and sure enough, it all works as it should.
Yep me too, as I posted at the top of the page I've not had any issues of any kind with Youtube -- and I didn't mention that I've made no change to the default Youtube Override so any issues that some might have would not appear to have anything to do the PP override setting (it would seem).coffeebreak wrote: ↑2020-01-09, 19:50.... For the record, YouTube has been working fine on my end leaving the built-in override untouched.
I know.coffeebreak wrote: ↑2020-01-09, 19:50Pale Moon does have a built-in site-specific UA override for YouTube ...
Mind if I add this to my forum signature, adesh?
Hi, I'm the one who started this thread. Since I'm not any kind of developer, I'm out of the loop as far as User Agent and whether I'm using "the previous milestone" or not. I only know that I'm using the latest version of Pale Moon (28.8.0) on my old Lenovo T430 with Windows 10 Pro, Intel i5 2.7GH, 8GB ram, 180GB SSD. Also, I'm located in Japan, in case that's relevant.
While this won't affect the underlying issue, if the warning banner annoys you it's possible to hide it cosmetically with an adblocking rule. If you wish to hide it, add the following rule to your personal filters:
Code: Select all
youtube.com##.alerts-wrapper
That might be it. I haven't seen the warning and haven't messed with the YT UA override at all.coffeebreak wrote: ↑2020-01-10, 17:03So yeah, it looked like a clear warning shot that Google plans to pull the plug on the classic interface.
