Just migrating from FF 56, to PM 28.7.2 (Win10 64) I have searched how to put crossair in tabs order to close them directly but the crosshair dispays only in the tab you are. How to get them on all tabs?

Thanks

I have four (4) tabs open at the moment. In each tab, I have an "X" in each tab and this is what I left click on to close that tab. And I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 28.7.2 as well as 32 bit windows Pale Moon 28.7.2 since I dual boot 64 bit linux Mint 19.2 (Tina) Xfce and 64 bit Windows 7.

What extensions are you using that might effect tab behavior?

Go to about:config, accept the risk of dragons, set browser.tabs.closeButtons to 1, and set browser.tabs.tabClipWidth to something low, like 20. Restart and you should have a close button on every tab.

FWIW, I have tabClipWidth to 140 which I guess is the default since I've never changed it. Always had X's on every tab all the time.

If you have a lot of tabs and their width gets smaller than the value of tabClipWidth then background tabs will lose their close buttons to save space for the page title.

Ahh, indeed. At 140, I can have 13 tabs open without losing the X's on all tabs. I rarely have more than five or six open at once.

I have the tabClipWidth set to 60, and 20 tabs have close buttons (I rarely have more tabs open than that). I can use middle-click to close tabs anyway, without using the buttons.

@Calle
welcome :)

You can install Pale Moon commander
https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/pm-commander/

This is a powerful configurator if you are not afraid to change some advanced preferences.

Once the add-on installed, open :
Tools -> Advanced Preferences -> User interface -> Tabs -> Tab close buttons -> Show tab close buttons -> On all tabs if wide enough.
(You can choose the tab width).
