I am saddened that there is so much antagonism from users about the new icon.
Too bad.
The you should choose not to ignore my posts explaining it.

Icons get seen a lot, so they need to be comfortable to look at - even if this does mean that they're also a little dull, stodgy, bland, and/or boring.

The new icon looks like a scrying sphere or a blue marble. What's the point of the drop shadow in a moon ?
I'm in favor of the old icon.

just wanted to throw out my opinion (being on the arts field, although that might not mean much)
So yeah, no way everyone was gonna be happy.. but I have a feeling that if we change it in 5 years the same amount of resistance will happen.. Along with 10 years down the road and 15 years down the road and so on. So I suggest you get over it or override it if you want but do it quietly. This bullshit won't be tolerated going forward just because you all get triggered when a single pixel changes.Sablesword wrote:Seconded. Simple is good. Even bland can be good, in a situtation like this one, with an everyday object one is looking at day-in and day-out.
