Virus Total has a new GUI and it has determined PM is an out-of-date browser and will not show you the main page any more. No way to contact them either as you cannot visit their page to report an issue.

What user agent are you sending to the website?

Works here with native and Firefox compatibility user-agent mode.

No user agent spoofing, native or firefox compatible using the drop-down, both do the same result.
I have no plugin nor extension to change the user agent string so it should all be as default in PM. Only started since they changed their GUI. I'm on PM 32bit version 28.5.

VTs response was this:
I've tried it using PM 64bit, same result.

When was the change, i was used virustotal two week ago it was the same as today.
And it works the same, i use native agent setting usually, switched the agent to the firefox compatible - it works too.
But there are records in error console:
Timestamp: 6/27/2019 6:41:09 PM
Error: Unable to check <input pattern='[[pattern]]'> because the pattern is not a valid regexp: raw bracket is not allowed in regular expression with unicode flag

I have the same issue with Virustotal. After some research it appeared that enabled 'Expose Noisy Tabs' addon is the case.
Reported about that on github.

Pale Moon natively shows audio indicators in tabs as of v28.3.0, so you shouldn't need that extension in most cases.

Yes, I know. I switched to native indicators as soon as I realized the conflict.

Thanks Satrow
That link now makes the VT available via the usual GUI.
BTW my old link was

The old link for me automatically forwards to satrow's link for me.
I'm used to using the old UI as well. The new UI is abysmally slow, and only half works on anything but Blink.

The reason is that VirusTotal is unfortunately owned by Google.

Use Jotti's Malware scan:

Virus Total wants to be picky about browsers, while it shouldn't. Use its competitor and problem solved

... it is? I wasn't aware of that. I thought they were independent.

I only learned about it last year or so. Been going there much less frequently after that.

since 2012? wow that was a really quiet takeover, totally oblivious about it. Well done, Google.
Time to evaluate alternatives.

Yeah, scary. What clued me in was that the site stopped working completely when I added the google fonts domain to my hosts file. Normally webmasters like a bit of fingerprinting but they won't outright break a site totally like that when you block it. So I did a bit of digging and yikes
