config file location?

Unread post by Foxxe Wilder » 2019-05-23, 07:00

I just got EXTREMELY LUCKY (apparently) and somehow got Netflix running with PM and can't replicate whatever I did on my Desktop system for my laptop so I decided to just copy the config files (as I would for any other browser etc) to my laptop but I'll be DAMNED if I can't find hide nor hair of them!

They are NOT in the Users folder (anywhere) and they are NOT in the ProgramData folder.

I've not seen this sort of setup before (in the old days, pre-Al Gore and commercialism on the net you'd find the settings in the same folder as the program but you can't do that anymore as files are readonly there)

... so where the hell ARE they?

The browser's configuration is stored in your profile folder.

(Going from memory here)
Windows: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles
Linux: /home/<username>/.mooonchild productions/pale moon/profiles

Alternatively, if you navigate to about:support in the browser, somewhere on the page should be a button that says "Open Profile Folder".

You should use %appdata% and ~ respectively when talking about where application data is stored.. ALSO don't assume everyone has it in the default location. I don't.

You should be able to find your profile from Help>Troubleshooting Information by clicking the button next to "Profile Folder".
