WHy doesn't the javascript window open?
On this page, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kenwood-6- ... Id=6279606
if I click on " See what nearby stores offer car installation," just above "add to cart" for example, the small window does not slide open. Nothing happens. If I try the same thing on the same computer using the latest Firefox browser, it opens as intended.
I do not have a pop-up blocker running, and I have tried with and without add-ons running. Including having tried in safe mode. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I have the latest version of Java 8 installed, and the use for Firefox button is ticked.
Please help. I need one browser that does EVERYTHING I require. Firefox can no longer claim this is true. I'm a new Pale Moon user with great hope.
Thank you!
Jeff

Re: WHy doesn't the javascript window open?
Checked out your link and I don't see the "See what nearby stores offer car installation" button/link anywhere on the page.
Also, Javascript and Java are two completely different animals, so the fact that you have Java 8 installed is irrelevant. If you need one browser that does everything you need done, then maybe Basilisk (also by Moonchild Productions) would be a better fit for you. (But I don't see that link/button on Basilisk either.)

(Java is not required there.)
Check your end for blocking extension(s), even uBlock Origin (or similar).Checked out your link and I don't see the "See what nearby stores offer car installation" button/link anywhere on the page.
Re: WHy doesn't the javascript window open?
Okay yes, when I disable uBo in Basilisk I get that link. But the link doesn't work in Basilisk either. Then I tried it in Pale Moon with a brand new profile, and that little section with the link never loaded at all for me. In the bottom left-hand corner was the message "Waiting for csi.gstatic.com..." and it never went away. I waited a few minutes before I finally closed the browser. Don't know if this info helps or not.therube wrote:

Re: WHy doesn't the javascript window open?
Thanks for looking into this for me. I'm glad you were able to reproduce it at your end.
I was sure Java and javascript were different. So many people reference them as if interchangeable online, that I don't know when I'm dealing with one vs the other.
Please keep kicking this around, but know that any fix would have to be written into the browser or only require a settings change. Otherwise it won't help me, as I don't get much deeper into programs than that.
Thanks,
Jeff

Open About config (or Pale Moon commander)
network.predictor.enable-prefetch
toogle the value : false => true

Diversity is key.

That was then.Confirming the behavior.
And today is today.
And today, it works - having made no changes on my end (that I am aware of).
Re: WHy doesn't the javascript window open?
It now works for me also. They must have fixed what was broken on their (Best Buy's) end.therube wrote:
