vs Nightly x64?
Would love to see some benchmarks comparing it to the latest 64-bit Nightly. or even just the current Firefox.

You can't compare the nightlies with Pale Moon. It's apples and oranges!
In addition, Pale Moon x64 is still not fully optimized the way it should be - due to MSVC compiler problems.

I've never understood the apples and oranges thing - they're both fruits, why can't you compare em?
PM & Nightly are both browsers, so you can at least compare browser functions, like Tom's Hardware does.

Alright, why not? Moonchild explained this to you.Caspid wrote:I've never understood the apples and oranges thing - they're both fruits, why can't you compare em?

Your response gives a point, they both clearly are fruits, but they are still 2 different fruits.
A square and a circle, they both are shapes, but they are still are 2 different shapes.
Should we still take a crack at it? Sure, but you could also do the same. The arsenal is at your disposal.

Re: vs Nightly x64?
It's just a saying in English, meaning you can't (shouldn't) compare 2 things that are clearly of a different class. You would get a skewed image in your results and any conclusions you draw from it are bound to be misinformed or unfounded.
MSIE 6 and Pale Moon 6 are both "version 6 browsers" but in a completely different class (re: html supported, performance, age of code, etc.), to compare.
Nightlies build on unstable code that has a lot of experimental features; they will have better performance in a number of areas, but are prone to crashes, hangups, and incompatibilities. Some nightly builds won't even start, period. If you want to compare that with a release-grade browser that does not have those features, you are not making a fair comparison. Such a comparison is currently not even possible since Firefox 7.0.1-release doesn't come in 64-bit.
In addition, benchmarks don't give a full picture. They test a subset of browser function and usually in a way that cannot be called "real life use scenarios".

Also, more importantly, Nightly is three versions ahead of Pale Moon and much less stable.
