Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Browser version: Pale Moon 19.0.1 32-bit
Forum search revealed no answer

Is there a maximum number of bookmarks that Pale Moon can display?

Importing from an HTML file does nothing & importing from a user profile only imports half the list, ie about 54 folders out of 111.

New user. Go easy on me please. :)

Welcome to the easy-going forum! :) Not aware of a limit - reports of people running thousands! Slightly surprised you are having a problem using HTML file method as that is normally the recommended fix for bookmark import problems. I recall a similar problem importing a large collection being discussed somewhere - I will try and find the Reference for you. Where are you importing from? More detail on your remark: "Importing from an HTML file does nothing" would help too?

Reference was probably a Q&A answer on Mozilla Support (SUMO) but "bookmarks import problems" are quite numerous so you might like to have a look yourself - just try keyword variations in SUMO search box: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/home (e.g. Recent Q&As: "all my favorites won't transfer over from internet explorer" , "will not import HTML bookmark file" and "few IE9 favorites get transfered to bookmarks. HTML solution.... same result" which unhelpfully contains comment: "Sometimes importing can fail if there are too many folders nested").

EDIT: Forum topic: Import Bookmark Problem and especially the SUMO Q&A link: Only 1/3rd of my bookmarks imported.... and it's Chosen solution suggested by the-edmeister was what I was thinking of. The OP's "How do I get them all? Manually? [Pathetic groan]" sticks in the mind!

First let me apologise for not replying sooner & secondly let me say thank you for your help.

Update.

I have managed to get the full list of my bookmarks installed by saving them from Opera as an HTML file & importing them from there. I probably complicated matters by removing IE 10 before Pale Moon was installed.

The only niggle I have left, is that although the list opens alphabetically the bookmarks in each folder are in reverse alphabetical order & nothing I do will change them. Perhaps there is a setting that I'm missing.

I have also found out how to get round the problem of ActiveX but I'll make a separate post for that.

Again, my thanks. Your time & effort are appreciated.
