Lost all saved passwords

Hi

Been using PM for a long time now. Only problem has been it does freeze quite frequently without warning - I have something like 60 tabs open across 5 windows (using TabMixPlus) most of the time. Machine is a Dell T5610 2 x Xeon EF-2660 V2 2.2GHz, 48Gb memory. But I live with it.

Upgraded two days ago to latest 28.3 - and now PM has forgotten all my passwords! Checked around for ideas but not a lot. The .json file is where it should be and visually seems to have all the info. The FF Password Recovery tool doesn't seem to work and can't find the file....

Anyway I just downgraded to 28.2 and lo and behold all my passwords have returned!

Ideas anywhere please? (Other than not upgrading again for the moment....)

It is NOT good to rely on unspecified things - they can change without notice.. I *always* save a copy of the profile before updating... look here..

https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/password-backup-tool/ is properly specified, so should always work - do not 'obfuscate' then even if big problems happen, you can load it into notepad and do it manually!!
