QUAR files

Every time I download Palemoon x64 it down loads the exe file with a extension of QUAR? what is it and how do you open it. I have asked several people already including IT specialists and they really have no idea, but did say it might be security software doing it. So I turned off all security software and downloaded Palemoon again and it did the same thing. I have never bumped into this before and so therefore have no idea how to get Palemoon to install on my computer. Or is there another reason or what would cause it?

"quar" to me sounds short for "quarantined" -- and I'd concur that it's be your antivirus/security software doing it by automatically quarantining a file it (mis)detects as malicious.
It's likely that your security software was -not- completely turned off when you tested this.

You sir are absolutely correct. I went through everything till I found it, my ransomware software saw it as a danger "the software is called CyberSight" and added the QUAN at the end and would not allowed it to open, a false positive. I do not know why it saw Palemoon as a danger but it did and I reported it. Thank you for answering me, at least we know what it is now in case others have the same problems with this software. "CyberSight" ransomware software is excellent but sometimes they all goof. This is the very first time since I have had it about 8 months now. Take care...
